Wild Horses in the Desert

Wild Horses in the Desert

These wild horses I see often on the nearby Indian Reservation.  This time was the closest I’ve gotten to them.  I found it interesting the way they would watch me.  This year I have spotted two colts and over a dozen adult horses.  These photos include one of those colts, looking more like a teenager now.  I have also observed how the parents and other nearby adult horses would watch over the young colts.  Could they be the colt’s other relatives?   Brothers, sisters, grandmas or grandpas, or quite possibly aunts and uncles?  My guess is YES!

Happy 10th birthday to my niece who loves horses!!  We love you bunches!!  This was originally posted in September 2010.
